Jumping Ahead of the Regulations
On November 20, 2009, the EPA’s new mandate which falls under SPCC regulations for fuel storage facilities will take effect. Ceres Solutions will be well ahead of the mandate requirements with all of their bulk petroleum facilities, including the new petroleum facility in Kingman.
The bulk plant, located next to our current Kingman fertilizer facility, will combine the Veedersburg, Williamsport, and Rockville plants. This plant will hold a capacity of 200,000 gallons of fuel. Along with the fuel storage, there will be a new structure for oil storage.
The facility updates include constructing the buildings over a containment pad. With updating to a concrete pad containment, this will ensure that in the rare case of a spill there will be no leaks into the ground. Additionally, the trucks will unload and load over these pads. In staying ahead of regulations, Ceres Solutions is working towards a cleaner and greener environment.
The petroleum facility will also be equipped with high speed pumps that will load at a rate of 240 gallons per minute, compared to current pumps that only pump 120 gallons per minute. This faster speed will give Ceres Solutions a more efficient, smoother loading time that will enable us to better serve you as our customer, and provide a safer, more environmentally friendly facility.
Along with the faster load out speed, new technology allows for the entire plant to be computer operated. This newer technology will enable Ceres Solutions employees to check inventory of fuel without physically going on location.
We are proud of our new facility and to provide more efficient customer service. For more information or if you have questions, talk to your current Ceres Solutions Petroleum Representative or call Patty Denman at 765-362-6700.
